Adam's graduation

On June 3rd, Montoursville High school graduated it's finest senior, Adam Knoebel. It was a nice night, with rain threatening, but things held off fine for the night. We endured 45 minutes of proud speeches by administrators and some talk by the top three in the class just to see Adam walk across the stage for 8 seconds. You may be last in a family of 5 boys, but you are #1 in our book. It has been neat to spend the last 9 years with Adam since Jeremy didn't see him much for the first 9. All the best to you!

Hoopla's

So, Boardwalk Boulevard is no more. There is a new and improved version in the old off-track betting site near Sears. This is now Adam's workplace, as well. As a grand opening perk, he was given some gift cards for his family to use. We went one night and had a nice dinner in the restaurant, played miniature bowling, and tried to conquer the arcade games. They have most of the same ones from Boardwalk with some new ones added in. You'll just have to see Mom K. rule the day with the new boxing challenge they have. Muhammed Ali, look out!

Montour Preserve

On April 21, Jeremy had off and we were looking for a family trip. Of course, I had soccer later in the day so we didn't go too crazy. We decided on the Montour Preserve near Danville and it was totally great! We visited the "fossil pit" where you can find fossil among the shale (which we did).
We took a nice walk after lunch and tried to catch frogs in the pond (we weren't able to.)

Here's a picture of the meandering stream alongside the trail path.

This is a giant log Jeremy thought was a nice shortcut across the water, instead of the bridge. Once he got to the far end, he realized it wasn't supported very well, and it started making a cracking noise. He almost killed himself in the jump but instead just aggravated the ankle he sprained a few weeks back!

Baltimore

So Jeremy needed continuing education hours this year so we headed to Baltimore for a vet conference. We stayed at a hotel closer to the action and by action we mean the Inner Harbor. It was nice to be so close to stuff but we could do without the civil protest that occurred outside our hotel. No one was shot but it did make the local news.

Here we are with the flamingos at the National zoo.

Elyse is eating fake food at the children's museum.

We went to Rita's in the harbor a couple times and this was Elyse's best performance, by far. She is saying, "cheese!"
Here's Brynn and I in the harbor.

We had dinner on the tables outside the National Aquarium since our kids get pretty rowdy at restaurants. There were some cool climb-y things nearby and we had a good time.

Easter

In trying to catch up, here are some Easter pics. We made eggs this year...Princess eggs, of course!!

Here is Brynn in the hunt for eggs at Grandma Knoebel's house

And Elyse

I had a big Easter dinner (since it was conference) and my parents and Jeremy's parents and Grandma and Grandpa Knoebel came over. It was the first meal on our "new" dining room table which was my parent's parents. It was a neat day. We took the picture after my parents left, though. Oops!

Rickett's Glen

On 3/18 we were lucky to have a gorgeous day in Central PA! What better thing to do then go to Rickett's Glen? We thought we would totally beat the crowds and have the whole thing to ourselves. Well, the lady at the visitor's center told us the falls trail was closed due to ice. Ice? Hasn't it been 60 degrees all week? She proceeded to show me a picture that looked like this:

Seriously, lady, there's no way the trail looks like this right now. This is how it looked a month ago. Whatever. So we found the 'Grand View Trail'. And it's namesake was pretty accurate:

finally, an update!

The list of excuses for not posting a blog update for quite some time is pretty lengthy. But, they are just just excuses. Some of it was due to the fact that we got a new camera, and we got such a huge memory card that we, literally, didn't need to download our pics and vids for several months! Now I know how to do it so I'm trying to use a picture download, picture ordering, blog updating system.

My first update will be from Brynn's birthday. She turned a magical 4 years old this year. Grandma Knoebel made a "Princess Brynn" cake which Brynn thought was just great. She has been pretty reluctant to pose for pictures so here's the best we got:
